  1. Having spent formative years and vast part of adult life in the UK, the home and origins of our legal system. It seems to me that we, here in Bangladesh, are still miles apart when it comes to applying the rule of law.

The judges here are yet to understand equitable principles related to estoppels and trusts. I find that there is also a confusion here about ownership and the distinction between a legal and beneficial ownership.

Next door, in India the law is much more responsive and reactive to the needs of its creators, the people, and the sooner we have a judiciary that is competent and able to excercise adequate justice both in Law and in Equity, then should we have what is often uttered incorrectly as "shadin Bangladesh".
